EN GARDE! takes a closer look at the history of fencing and current developments in this discipline, from a historical, cultural and sporting perspective. Each exhibition theme is linked to historical and modern anecdotes.
The first part of the exhibition centres on the noble history of the sword, which defined the history of France and other nations for many centuries, and its many current popular manifestations in novels, video games, fashion, cinema or advertising. Swords and sword fighting have thus become part of the collective imagination. The touchscreens contribute to making the visit a very personal experience, with quizzes and interesting facts.
